The solutions was Rekh. Mechanical men with the mind of a Shoggoth. Not piloted by protoplasm like our other Project Kraken robots, but a learning and living machine designed to traverse our facilities and take in as much knowledge as possible.
Once the time comes, a Rekh enters dormancy and is carefully embalmed in a ritual known only to the Shoggoth. The wrapped remains lay dormant in sarcophagi until needed. At which point, unprompted, they rise again to restore their knowledge to the collective.
